LEARNING & GROWING IN FAITH

At St. Martin's we strive to provide opportunities for all ages to continue to grow. We hope to nourish the mind and soul in the things of God and to support and sustain our families in Catholic belief.

CCD CHILDREN'S EDUCATION (September thru May)

We meet on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. We emphasize Scripture, the protection of the Guardian Angels, Sacramentals, and Liturgy. Children should  attend Mass with their families. The parents are the first teachers of the children; we are supportive of the family.

Our class groups are described below:

GRADES   K - 5

We provide instruction using both the Pflaum Faith Formation Program and the Faith and Life series from Ignatius Press.  Sacramental preparation begins in September for the Sacraments of Penance and First Holy Communion.  These sacraments are provided to children in the Second Grade or as needed.

CONFIRMATION PREPARATION - GRADES 6-12

St. Martin's provides preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation for those in grades 6 through 12. We provide instruction using both the Pflaum Faith Formation Program and the Faith and Life Series for Ignatius Press.  A service project for the community, research of saints, prayer and journaling, and developing a sense of the broader parish community are important parts of their learning experiences. Parents and sponsors take part in affirming goodness, love and correction. The second part of the year will be spent on the Life of Jesus, applying what we learn to practical application in our lives. We also support one another in developing the Gifts of the Holy Spirit that we have received.

RCIC

We provide children's initiation into the sacraments for families converting to the Catholic faith or for children who for some reason have been delayed in their reception of the sacraments.

MUSIC

We encourage the musical talents of our youth by participation in Children's Liturgies and the inclusion of music in our CCD program.

CHRISTMAS PLAY

All children are invited to participate in our annual Christmas play performed before the Children's Liturgy on Christmas Eve.
RCIA
- Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

For those adults wishing to join the Catholic Faith.  Classes are on Saturday mornings, 9:15 to 10:30 . Check schedule on the events page. Please contact Fr. Herman for more information.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,
We ask your help as parents to show your love to our children.
May the Holy Spirit guide us in decisions with wisdom and understanding

as we try to imitate Joseph and Mary.
Help us to know your will that our lives may be in good order.
Grant peace to flow within our hearts
that we may extend it

and be  of service to others.
Jesus, be in our hearts and in our homes.
Amen.
